Give scientific reasons : $DNA$ polymorphism is the basis of genetic mapping of human genome.
Polymorphism is inherited from parents to children. So it is useful for the identification and paternity testing. It arises due to mutation and also plays an important role in evolution and speciation. These mutation in the non-coding sequences have piled up with time and form the basis of $DNA$ polymorphism. It is the basis of genetic mapping of human genome as well as $DNA$ fingerprinting.
Now, sequencing of total genomes getting is getting less expensive day by the day. Soon it may be affordable for a common man to get his genome sequenced. What in your opinion could be the advantage and disadvantage of this development ?
Which is the basis of genetic mapping of human genome as well as $DNA$ finger printing?
Full Forms :
$1.$ $\rm {HGP}$
$2.$ $\rm {ESTs}$
$3.$ $\rm {SA}$
$4.$ $\rm {BAC}$
$A$ : $HGP$ was completed in $2003$ by sequencing all genes of all chromosomes.
$R$ : All coding and noncoding genes were sequenced by $ESTs$
Full Forms : $ELSI$
