(N/A) Galileo Galilei challenged the Aristotelian view that heavier objects fall faster than lighter ones. Through his experiments and logical reasoning,he observed that in the absence of air resistance,all objects fall towards the Earth with the same constant acceleration,regardless of their mass. This acceleration is known as the acceleration due to gravity,denoted by $g$,which is approximately $9.8 \ m/s^2$ near the Earth's surface.
