Typhoid fever in human beings is caused by pathogenic bacteria salmonella typhi.
Salmonella typhi generally enters the small intestine of human body through food and water contaminated with them.
They migrate through blood to reach different organs in blood. A lysed bacteria releases toxins which has severe effects on humans.
Sustained high fever($39$-$40$degree), weakness, stomach pain, constipation, headache and loss of appetite are some common symptoms of this disease.
Severity may lead to intestinal perforation and death.
Typhoid vaccine are available and for detection of typhoid disease Widal test is also used.
