(B) When a charged particle is brought near a light,neutral particle,it induces a redistribution of charges within the neutral particle. This phenomenon is known as electrostatic induction. The side of the neutral particle closer to the charged particle develops an opposite charge,while the side farther away develops a similar charge. Since the opposite charge is closer to the source charge,the attractive force between them is stronger than the repulsive force between the like charges. Consequently,the net force on the neutral particle is attractive.
