It lasts for $3-5$ days.$(ii)$ Follicular phase: Primary follicles grow into mature Graafian follicles. The endometrium regenerates due to the secretion of $LH$,$FSH$,and oestrogen. It lasts for about $10-14$ days.$(iii)$ Ovulatory phase: $A$ rapid secretion of $LH$ ($LH$ surge) induces the rupture of the Graafian follicle,leading to ovulation. It lasts for about $48$ hours.$(iv)$ Luteal phase: The ruptured follicle transforms into the corpus luteum,which secretes progesterone. The endometrium thickens further. If fertilization does not occur,the corpus luteum degenerates,leading to menstruation. Oestrogen and progesterone levels rise during this phase.
