For example,the nitrite ion $(NO_2^-)$ is an ambident nucleophile.
It can attack through the oxygen atom to form alkyl nitrites $(R-O-N=O)$,or it can attack through the nitrogen atom to form nitroalkanes $(R-NO_2)$.
