Loss of water generates a tertiary $(3^{\circ})$ carbocation at the $C1$ position. $3$. Elimination of a proton from the adjacent carbon ($C2$ or $C6$) leads to the formation of the most stable alkene. $4$. According to Zaitsev's rule,the more substituted alkene is the major product. $5$.
