(A) The reaction proceeds via an $S_N2$ mechanism. In an $S_N2$ reaction,the nucleophile $(OH^-)$ attacks the electrophilic carbon from the side opposite to the leaving group $(-Br)$. This results in a Walden inversion (inversion of configuration) at the carbon atom bonded to the bromine. The $-NH_2$ group is not involved in this substitution reaction and remains in its original configuration. Therefore,the major product is the one where the $-OH$ group is attached with an inverted stereochemistry relative to the original $-Br$ position.
