Gonadotropin-releasing hormone $(GnRH)$ from the hypothalamus stimulates the anterior pituitary to secrete two gonadotropins: Follicle-stimulating hormone $(FSH)$ and Luteinizing hormone $(LH)$.$2$. $LH$ acts on the Leydig cells (interstitial cells) of the testis and stimulates them to synthesize and secrete androgens (primarily testosterone).$3$. $FSH$ acts on the Sertoli cells and stimulates the secretion of some factors which help in the process of spermiogenesis (the transformation of spermatids into spermatozoa).
