Each cell or group of cells is specialized to perform a specific function.
Cells that are specialized to perform similar functions are grouped together to form tissues.
Consequently,a particular physiological function is carried out by a specific group of cells at a definite location within the body.
Since different groups of cells perform different tasks,this organization is referred to as the division of labour in multicellular organisms.
