For argentite $(Ag_2S)$,leaching is carried out using a dilute solution of sodium cyanide $(NaCN)$ in the presence of air. The chemical reaction is: $Ag_2S + 4NaCN \xrightarrow{	ext{Air}} 2Na[Ag(CN)_2] + Na_2S$. Then,the $Na_2S$ is oxidized to $Na_2SO_4$ by air to prevent the reverse reaction.
