The output voltage $V_{01} = 12 \, V - 0.3 \, V = 11.7 \, V$. Case $2$: If the $Ge$ diode connection is reversed,it will be reverse-biased and will not conduct. Now,the $Si$ diode (threshold $0.7 \, V$) will conduct. The output voltage $V_{02} = 12 \, V - 0.7 \, V = 11.3 \, V$.
