(C) Myopia,also known as near-sightedness,is a vision defect where a person can see nearby objects clearly but cannot see distant objects distinctly.In this condition,the light rays from a distant object focus in front of the retina rather than on the retina itself.This happens because the eyeball becomes too long or the lens becomes too curved.To correct this defect,a concave lens (diverging lens) is used to diverge the incoming light rays before they enter the eye,allowing the image to focus correctly on the retina.
