From the $A.V.$ node,the impulse is transmitted to the Bundle of His and then spreads throughout the ventricular musculature via the Purkinje fibers. The Purkinje fibers are responsible for the rapid conduction of the electrical impulse,which triggers the contraction of the ventricles.
