During the night,$CO_2$ is fixed by $PEP$ carboxylase to form oxaloacetate,which is then converted to malic acid and stored in the vacuole. During the day,the stored malic acid is decarboxylated to release $CO_2$ inside the cell. This released $CO_2$ is then fixed by the $RuBP$ carboxylase (Rubisco) enzyme in the Calvin cycle.
